The Winters are a couple of creeps as far as I’m concerned. It was hard for me to like them considering they are ruining their son’s life with how much they smother him and how neurotic they teach him to be. In reality, any child who goes through that would probably need therapy to live a normal life, instead of the anticlimactic ending Lisa Tucker gives the book. Ironically, the only character I really liked was David Bloom’s ex-wife. She was refreshingly honest without feeling sorry for herself. This is not a book I would recommend to people, even though the author is a talented and knowledgable writer.
